Youths Gain Exposure In African Wrestling
The tournament was organised by Hon. Albert Dooh Collins to raise awareness.
An African Wrestling Tournament, dubbed “Hon. Albert Dooh Collins Tournament,” took place recently at Ndogbong, Douala, with Jean Yves Patrick Mbappe Eyoum winning. He received a trophy from the Wouri Divisional League personally handed over by Hon. Albert Dooh Collins in the presence of officials of the Divisional Delegation of Sports and Physical Education as well as the Paramount Chief of the Bassa Clan, Mbody Epée Gaston.
In all, 46 youths competed in four categories, including boys and girls. The objective was to spur more youths to be interested in sports as a whole and African Wrestling in particular, which is a part of the Sawa cultural heritage. The tournament was organised to raise awareness and get more people interested. The association, “Agir autrement pour l’éducation,” organised the competition in collaboration with the Wouri Divisional League and support of Hon. Albert Dooh Collins.
