UEFA ASSIST U-17 Tournament: Cameroon Takes On Morocco


The U-17 Lions of Cameroon will play against Morocco in their third group B game at the ongoing UEFA ASSIST U-17 International Tournament in Antalya, Turkey today March 8, 2019.

Today’s encounter promises to be tough as each side will be struggling to finish first in the group. Ahead of the encounter, the team has been training hard in Antalya under the supervision of Head coach, Thomas Libih, in order to secure a victory.

In their second game on Wednesday March 6, 2019, Cameroon beat Belarus 1-0 and Morocco beat Uganda 4-1. In the first game they beat the Ugandan Cubs 4-1. The Cadet Lions are now leading their group with six points.

They are followed by Morocco with six points. Belarus are third with zero point and Uganda are at the bottom of the table with zero point. The friendship tournament serves as preparations for the upcoming 2019 U-17 Total Africa Cup of Nations which will take place in Tanzania from April 14 to 28, 2019.

The semi-finalists will qualify for FIFA U-17 World Cup. Three European teams, Australia and all the eight teams that qualified for the 2019 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations are taking part in a ten-day tournament in Antalya, Turkey.
