The ambassadors of the two countries yesterday December 12, 2016 held discussions with the Minister of External Relations in Yaounde.
The Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella yesterday December 12, 2016, held separate talks with the Ambassadors of the Republic of Turkey, Husnu Murat Ulku and that of the Kingdom of Spain, Jorge De Orueta Pemartin. Both audiences with the Turkish and Spanish diplomats all focused on strengthening bilateral ties between Cameroon and the two countries.
The Turkish ambassador and the Minister of External Relations reviewed bilateral relations between both countries for the ending year and examined ways of reinforcing cooperation ties in the coming year. Cooperation between Turkey and Cameroon, he said, is expanding in diverse fields. He expressed satisfaction with the attention Cameroon is giving to the cooperation ties with Turkey. Turkey and Cameroon have been combating terrorism and will continue to strengthen cooperation in the security, defense and humanitarian domains. In the economic and commercial domains, he stated that Turkey has carried out road projects and constructed a cement factory in Douala and will construct the Japoma stadium.
On his part, the Spanish ambassador to Cameroon, Jorge De Orueta Pemartin, was a bearer of a sealed message from the newly appointed Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs to his Cameroonian counterpart. Ambassador Orueta Pemartin said they also examined possibilities for establishing win-win partnership between both countries in the coming years.
