Summit on Family Planning: Public Health Minister Invited To London

Ahead of the Global Summit on Family Planning in London, the British Higher Commissioner to Cameroon, Brian Olley has officially extended an invitation to Cameroon’s Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda and his team to participate at the summit.  During an audience, June 27, 2017 granted to Brian Olley by the Minister of Public Health, the British High Commissioner to Cameroon said his country is organising an important international summit on family planning on July 11, 2017 and the audience was also an opportunity to discuss the challenges and progress made so far in developing family planning in the country. The audience was also attended by the UNFPA country representative, Barbara Sow. Brian Olley said each year Great Britain contributes some FCFA three billion through the UN fund (UNFPA) for Family Planning development. He added that the aim of the summit is to share ideas on how to make the funding of family planning more effective and to attract more international donors. Hence on July 11, policymakers, donors, and advocates from around the world will gather at the Family Planning Summit in London, UK, to discuss efforts to reach our Family Planning 2020 goals.
