Members of the Coordinating Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa Region on January 18, 2018 expressed their appreciation to the Cameroon government for supporting Hon. Emilia Monjowa Lifaka win election as the chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and used the occasion to solicit more support during her tenure of office.
The nine-member CPA Africa Region delegation was led by the Rt. Hon. Gladys Kokorwe, Speaker of the Parliament of Botwana.
The leader said after the audience that it was courtesy visit to the Prime Minister, Head of Government Philemon Yang. Information from the in-camera discussions indicated that Botswana will be hosting the CPA session this 2018 and its Coordinating Committee was touring member countries to lobby for support and participation.
The Rt. Hon. Gladys Kokorwe said Prime Minister Philemon Yang thanked the CPA Africa Region for efforts the organization is making to foster democracy and the development of the African continent. It also emerged from the audience that the CPA delegation members handed a sealed message to the Prime Minister to forward to the Head of State, President Paul Biya.
