Civil Society Organizations in Meme Division have brainstormed on ways to improve on the leadership capacity of their organizations in a three day training course organized by the by South West Civil Society Organisation Network.
According to the president of the South West Civil Society Organisation Network, Louise Nkembi, the three-day training is part of a twelve month leadership course by Southwest Civil Society Organisation Network. The three day training workshop brought in sundry civil society organizations from within Meme division from October 29 to November 1, 2017 at the conference hall of the Southwest Farmers Corporative Union Limited, SOWEFCU, Kumba.
Louise Nkembi, underscored that the whole idea of the program stems from the fact that many civil societies in the Region don’t operate because of lack of funds. He explained that the three day training focused on institutional strength and capacity, strategic planning and budgeting. He further noted that because of the lack of such knowledge many civil societies draws budget without planning their strategies which makes them to lose focus not understanding that funds don’t come without a proper strategic plan to convince funders of their capacity to carry out their task diligently.
