South Africa: Africa’s Mining Stakeholders Begin Discussions

Africa’s mining officials on February 5, 2018 began meeting in Cape Town, South Africa for their annual gathering, the 24th “Investing In Africa Mining Indaba.” Attending the four-day discussions are 2,000 representatives of foreign firms and delegations from 45 African nations.  While 2017 was good for mining business on the continent, the World Bank warns that prices of minerals are likely to drop in 2018. However, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC, are expected to benefit from rising copper demand, experts forecast.
