An exequatur was presented to Mohamed Abdoulaye Diop, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway yesterday.

It has taken a considerable period for the Kingdom of Norway with Embassy in the Nigerian capital of Abuja to establish in the port city of Douala. Nevertheless, with the presentation of Exequatur to the Honorary Consul of Norway to Douala, Mohamed Abdoulaye Diop, yesterday, relations between the two countries are expected to witness a new economic and cooperation twist. While presenting the official document signed by the Head of State to the Senegalese-born Norwegian diplomat in Bonanjo, the Governor of Littoral, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua, lauded the excellent relations between Cameroon and Norway, noting that such relations have been evident in the area of education, sustainable development, among others. On his part Mohamed Abdoulaye Diop expressed gratitude to the Cameroon government for the willingness to further diplomatic cooperation with Norway. Through the Consulate, those travelling to Norway from Cameroon will apply for visas and other relevant services.

It is worth noting that Cameroon has benefitted water distribution projects and the construction of power plants in Edea is expected to kick off in the future. The towns of Nkongsamba and Meyomessala are due to receive drinkable water thanks to a buyer-credit agreement woth FCFA 37.8 billion signed January 13, 2017, in Yaounde. The water distribution projects is financed by the Norwegian agency Eksportkerditt.
