National Assembly: Last Respects To Hon. Eloundou Barnabé


Hon. Eloundou Barnabé, the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), Member of the National Assembly from Lekié West Constituency in the Centre Region will be buried tomorrow, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Obak Village in Okala Subdivision. Before the burial in his native village, his colleagues, Members of the National Assembly paid the last respects to the fallen committed CPDM member during a funeral ceremony at the National Assembly on November 22, 2018.

The Chairperson of the CPDM Parliamentary Group, Hon. Ndongo Essomba Jean Bernard represented the House Speaker, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril at the ceremony. This was in the presence among others, of the Senior Vice Speaker of the House, Hon. Hilarion Etong and the Vice Prime Minister, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Amadou Ali. Presenting the eulogies of the House on behalf of the CPDM Group leader, the Vice Chairperson of the Group, Hon. Meboka Mary Muyali lau ded the contributions of the fallen MP who served as the member of the Committee on Production and Trade.

Born on April 22, 1956, Hon. Eloundou undertook a daunting academic life that earned him the profession of senior financial official. In his professional life, he got to the position of Inspector of Services at the Ministry of Public Health. Government also recognised his services by raising him to the rank of Commander of the National Order of Valour. He was equally a member of the Higher Judicial Council. After retiring from the public service, Hon. Eloundou Barnabé devoted his energy in politics as a committed member of the CPDM. It was for this reason that he was elected into the National Assembly on the CPDM ticket in the twin legislative and municipal council elections of September 30, 2013. He died almost towards the end of his term of office in the ongoing ninth legislative period of the National Assembly.
