Konye Council Donates Didactic Material To 40 Schools

The offer, worth FCFA 5 million, is part of the decentralisation process.

In keeping with the promises of the decentralisation process in Cameroon to enhance and encourage the education of young Cameroonians, over 40 primary schools in Konye Council area, Meme Division of the South West Region, recently received didactic material from the Council worth 5 million FCFA.

Handing over the material to the Inspector of Basic Education for Konye Sub-division, Mandi Dickson Dikong and his head teachers, the Mayor, Barrister George Musima Lobe, reminded them that it was a gift from the State as part of the decentralisation process in the Ministry of Basic Education. He urged them to use the stationery jealously and only for the purpose intended.

Receiving the stationery, Mandi Dickson Dikong, on behalf of the schools, thanked government for decentralisation in the Ministry of Basic Education and Konye Council for the concern it has for the education of young Cameroonians. The Inspector promised to ensure the good use of the donation, saying it will go a long way to enhance learning and teaching in the area. The handover ceremony was attended by the Divisional Officer for Konye Sub-division, Babila Hotison.
