Kenya: Court Lifts Ban On Three TV Stations

A high court in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, on February 1, 2018 suspended government’s recent ban of three independent television channels for broadcasting the unauthorised inauguration of opposition leader, Raila Odinga earlier this week. Odinga boycotted last year’s second round of presidential polls, alleging fraud by Predsident Uhuru Kenyatta’s party. The BBC reported that the suspension will last 14 days before the court hears the case.
