John Fru Ndi, National Chairman of Cameroon’s main leading position party, from September 30 to October 4, 2019 actively participated at deliberations during the Major national dialogue. The politician spoke at the first plenary on September 30, 2019 dedicated to general debates on a wide range of topics aimed at resolving the crisis in the North West and South West Regions of the country. In his keynote address at the opening plenary, the SDF Chairman welcomed the idea hoping it will be the beginning of establishing a truth and reconciliation process in the country. “After such a long time clamoring for an opportunity to talk to each other, after so much blood has been spilled, and after so much time has been wasted, we are finally here to participate in what the SDF and myself sincerely hope was going to be the beginning of the healing process badly needed in our country for the solution of the Anglophone crisis. This conference would have been a true forum for the establishment of truth and reconciliation for our country,” he prayed.
At the closing of the national dialogue, the three-time presidential runner congratulated the different committee members hoping the President of the Republic will see to the implementation of the recommendations. “I want to congratulate members of the committees who worked with the interest of the country at hand,” he stated.
John Fru Ndi had several formal and informal meetings at Yaounde Conference Centre with different personalities, exchanging ideas on the best ways forward.
Prior to the dialogue, the SDF Chairman was received in audience by the Prime Minister within the framework of pre-consultations during which he handed propositions that can facilitate the return to normalcy in the two English regions.
