Fight Against Corruption: CONAC Sensitises Women in West Region


Hereunder is a press release from the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

“The National Anti-Corruption Commission (CONAC) will on Tuesday, March 06, 2018, in the West Region, organize a caravan to sensitise women on the fight against corruption. The caravan, which is part of the efforts of CONAC to prevent corruption, falls in line with activities marking the 33rd International Woman’s Day celebration.

The objective is to mobilize and sensitize women on the damages caused by corruption and the role that women should play in the fight against the cankerworm.

The caravan will also enable CONAC to seek popular support for the fight against corruption so that Cameroon can constitute a critical mass of positive actors ready to say “NO” to the scourge.

Kick-off of the caravan will be given by the Governor of the West Region and the Chairman of CONAC, at the esplanade of the Bafoussam City Council at 9:00 am, in the presence of administrative, judicial, traditional and religious authorities of the town.

The essentially woman-constituted caravan will drive through the main towns of the West Region, stopping at strategic points such as road junctions, markets and motor parks, to distribute information gadgets and sensitise the public on the need to fight against corruption.

The Chairman of CONAC seizes this opportunity to enjoin Cameroonians from every nook and cranny to be more committed to the fight against corruption in a bid to guarantee the development of the nation, which is the major objective of the policy of emergence championed by the Head of State, His Excellency Paul BIYA.”
