Diplomacy: Appointed Officials Commissioned


They were installed into their functions on Saturday April 14, 2018 by the Minister of External Relations following their appointment by the Head of State on November 7, 2017.

Over 200 diplomats appointed by the President of the Republic on November 7, 2017 to the central and external services of the Ministry of External Relations have been commissioned into their respective functions.

They were installed by Minister Lejeune Mbella Mbella on April 14, 2018 in an official ceremony to commission into office and bid farewell to the newly appointed.

Of those appointed are 3 women and 194 men. The installed officials will occupy a total of 12 different posts including Consuls General, Consuls, Ministers Counsellors, First and Second Secretaries, Inspector General, Technical Advisers, Directors and Service Heads at the central and external services of the ministry.

Minister Mbella Mbella exhorted them to strive for diplomatic and consular heightening bearing in mind the objectives of the Ministry of External Relations towards the image building of Cameroon at the international scene.

Solidarity, professionalism and the conduct of ethics for the safeguarding of our Fatherland, the Minister said, should be foremost. He equally encouraged them to work under the guidance of the principles of equity and justice.

The Director of Translation at the Ministry, Loh Oliver Fuh, expressed satisfaction on his appointment and subsequent installation, pledging to uphold the norms of bilingualism. “I will see to the translation of official documents about the Ministry for the easy understanding of all,” he stated. 

Meanwhile, prior to their installation, the appointed staff had undertaken a three-day training from November 2729 November 2017 on refresher courses in diplomacy and consular relations. Appointed on basis on devotion and professionalism, they are charged with the responsibility of championing Cameroon’s representation and promotion of bilateral cooperation.
