China: British PM’s Visit Boosts Bilateral Trade

China and Britain on January 31, 2018 signed 12 cooperation agreements, including 836 billion FCFA for projects under the Belt and Road Initiative. China Daily reported that British Prime Minister Theresa May’s visit to Beijing saw the signing of agreements in nuclear power, high-speed rail roads, finance and hi-tech trade. According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, bilateral trade hit 41,562 billion FCFA in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 6.2 per cent.
