The United Democratic Party (UDP), member of the Presidential majority in alliance with the CPDM, is on the field in the North West Region with appeals for the population to vote the CPDM candidate, Paul Biya on October 7, 2018.
Launching campaigns ahead of the elections in Bamenda on September 22, 2018, the party’s National chairman, El Had Lawan Bako told militants that it will be unwise for Cameroonians to gamble with their future by voting some of the candidates in the race who feature as gamblers and novices in the leadership and political game.
He said in times of insecurity like this, Paul Biya, the Wiseman of Africa emerges with experience and maturity to continue handling State affairs. El Hadj Lawan Bako said it is time for the truth to be told with illustrations that the CPDM and the UDP are tried and tested political parties with leaders who have excelled where most other parties have failed woefully to serve the people of Cameroon.
The launching event featured a presentation of volumes of books showcasing President Paul Biya’s achievements at the helm of State. The CPDM candidate was presented as the liberator of the Cameroon society, the man who introduced a free market economy, free press, facilitated political pluralism and a leader who is hailed for his policy of inclusion.
It emerged from the occasion that that Paul Biya is the man to vote because he led Cameroon to regain the Bakassi peninsula from Nigeria. The UDP is leading campaigns on the platform of solutions to the socio-political crisis rocking the North West and South West regions in the believe that Paul Biya is the candidate to end the crisis. The event also had gifts for some internally displaced persons, escaping the socio-political crisis.
