The coach of the national football team, Hugo Broos, has published the list of 23 players ahead of the World Cup qualifier match against the Chipolopolo of Zambia on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Zambia. The list was made public on Friday November 3, 2017 during a press conference in Yaounde.

Speaking at the press conference, Coach Hugo Broos said his goal is to win Zambia and finish second in the group. He said in order to prepare a team for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, he will supervise more homebased players especially during the upcoming 2018 CHAN in Morocco and give them a chance to test their skills in future matches. To that effect, he called on Cameroonians to be patient.

The encounter which has no stakes will be the last match for the two teams. The list is made up of almost all the players that were called to camp for the match against Algeria last month. There are eight defenders amongst them regular players and some who are new comers such as Alphonse Tientcheu of Eding Sport of Lekié Football Club. Also, Hugo Broos has selected four key players for the midfield and eight attackers who are expected to score goals for Cameroon notably Frantz Pangop of Union of Douala who scored a goal for Cameroon in the last match against Algeria. Fai Collins is absent due to suspension after receiving two yellow cards. The players are expected to meet in Yaounde today where they will start training ahead of the Zambian campaign. Nigeria tops Group with 13 points B and is the first African side to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
